Creating a platform for engineering through a shift in thinking

Quite simply, for children, engineering means the process of planning and creating. It is a process of trial and error, applying knowledge they learn along the way. Sure this is a very simplistic way of looking at it but does it need to be any more complex than this?

Children are experiencing engineering every day. When they build a tower that falls down, when they get in the car to go to the shops, when they dig a hole in the sand. How we, as adults, respond and reflect on these experiences has effects of gigantic proportions.
