These beautiful capes allow children to develop an understanding of the deep and rich Australian Indigenous history. Every cape depicts a different story for children to identify with. The stories are original and uniquely Australian, allowing children to further extend their dramatic play in the most meaningful way. The cape stories include; Snake: The dots on the head and tail mean meeting place of the snake and its people. The grey dots represent all the eggs from the snake and creation. On the outside of the snake is a history of the snakes and its peoples camp sites and travels. Platypus: The dots and circles in the tail represent the beginning of life the middle part are the waterholes and travels of the platypus and the dots and tracks in the bill represent the future. Goanna: The Goanna has left its tracks behind while playing with the children, they are playing hide and seek and all the shapes on the outside represent all the hiding places and fun the kids are having. Emu: Each feather represents all the different family groups in the one area and their connection with each other and to their totem the Emu. Kangaroo: The kangaroo tracks represents the travels and journey of the kangaroo and the bigger dots on the outside represents the families it will meet and the smaller dots are all the new areas it will have travelled to. Each cape features an elastic neck with a velcro fastener. Capes are fully machine washable with no removable parts. Made of Sateen. Ages 18mths+
